Ed
Gordon Wildlife Management
Area
- This 8,600 acre public hunting area offers
white-tailed deer, small game, waterfowl and 143
acre Lake Cargile.
Flatside
Wilderness Area -
Open to foot or horse travel only, it includes
almost 10,000 acres of pristine wilderness. Ten
miles of the Ouachita National Recreation Trail
wind through the area, providing great views of
creeks and valleys.
Harris
Brake Wildlife Management
Area
- Managed by the Arkansas Game and Fish commission,
the lake and surrounding area provide great fishing
and duck hunting. Cabins and camping are
available.
Winona
Wildlife Management
Area
- Popular hunting area managed under a cooperative
agreement between the Arkansas Game and Fish
Commission, U.S. Forest Service and Weyerhaeuser
Timber Company.
Holla
Bend National Wildlife
Refuge
- One of Arkansas' most outstanding areas for
wildlife, especially eagles and waterfowl, and a
significant wintering population of Canada
geese. Six thousand acres support some 50
different species of mammals and anywhere from 230
to 250 species of birds depending on the time of
the year.
East
Fork and Hurricane Creek Wilderness
Areas
- Thousands of acres of forest, streams, waterfalls
and rugged mountain country.
Petit
Jean Wildlife Management
Area
- Seasonal hunting hotspot has terrific scenery all
year.
