AHA Awards $38,500 in Scholarships

The Arkansas Hospitality Association (AHA), the official voice of the restaurant, lodging and tourism industry in the state, recently awarded $38,500 in scholarships to Arkansas students planning careers in the hospitality industry.

The grants were awarded through AHA’s non-profit education arm, the Hospitality and Tourism Education Foundation, and are intended to provide opportunities for professional training and career advancement for students pursuing jobs in culinary arts, restaurant and hotel management and other hospitality fields.

A majority of the funds are raised during the live and silent auctions held at the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism.

“The tourism and hospitality industry is big business, and one of the fastest growing sectors of the American economy,” said Montine McNulty, AHA executive director. “That’s why the Arkansas Hospitality Association is dedicated to developing a skilled workforce to support the industry’s future growth in our state.”

similar to this piece of art

The Arkansas River Valley Arts Center will induct a 2007 Artist and Patron of the Arts into the newly created Beaux Arts Academy. The first artist to be inducted is Lodema Jensen.
