IN THE
PARK!

FOUR
STAGES OF NON-STOP ENTERTAINMENT AT pARTy IN THE
PARK
pARTy IN THE
PARK, billed as a Family Fun Festival, will kick off
Saturday, April 9, at 10:00 am with a balloon release in
Russellville City Park. The festival will surround the
Arkansas River Valley Arts Center at 1001 East B Street in
Russellville.
Along with a day of games, activities, booths, exhibits and
demonstrations there will be four stages of non-stop music
and entertainment. HAPPENSTANCE is just one of the great
musical groups that will be performing.
HAPPENSTANCE is a trio of acoustic singer-songwriters who
play original music, sing great harmony, and challenge their
audience to have as much fun as they do. HAPPENSTANCE always
gets the audience involved in the show and makes sure
everyone leaves with a smile on their face and a song in
their heart. They perform original songs that mirror the
varied backgrounds and influences of its members. From
Country to Delta Blues and everything in-between,
HAPPENSTANCE sings songs of everyday people and
extraordinary circumstances.
There is no entry fee to attend pARTy IN THE PARK and most
of the games and activities are free. The public is invited
to enjoy a day of family fun. For information or to have an
exhibit or selling booth, call the Arts Center at
479-968-2452 or email artscenter@centurytel.net

SET YOUR SITES ON
ARKANSAS
Reprinted
from News from the Department of Parks &
Tourism
A new promotion from
the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, "Set Your
Sites on Arkansas," is available to businesses and
organizations around the state. The Department's goal with
this project is to increase the number of Web sites that
link to arkansas.com, benefiting both the Department's site
and the businesses that link to the site.
"Search engines on the Internet have changed the way they
pull up properties when a search is instigated. Before, they
searched the first couple of paragraphs, looking for "key
words." Now the engines factor in the number of links to and
from the Web site as a major part of their search criteria,"
said Jana Greenbuam, communications manager for the
Department of Parks and Tourism, who is overseeing the
project.
It's easy to link to the site. Just go to
arkansas.com/helpfulinfo/linking_policy.asp to download
animated banners and the html code for your site. Once the
link is in place, a reciprocal link from Parks and Tourism
is obtained by sending a reply to linking@arkansas.com to
inform the Department that the Arkansas link has been added.
Also include the address where the link can be found.
Arkansas.com is the state's premier Web location for
information about Arkansas communities, events, attractions,
lodging and dining. The site had 26.3 percent increase from
2003 to 2004 in the number of visitors to the site.
ArkansasHotDeals.com also saw an increase of 58.7 percent in
2004.
