One of the region’s tri-peaks, Mount Nebo offers sweeping views of the Arkansas River Valley. A section of the mountain was chosen as a park site in 1933. Constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, native stone and logs from Mount Nebo were used by the CCC to construct many of the park's bridges, trails, rustic-style cabins, and pavilions. Mount Nebo has over 14 miles of trails for mountain biking, hiking and exploring. The park provides 34 campsites (24 Class B; 10 Hike-in Tent sites) [no dump station] and 14 fully-equipped cabins with kitchens. Interesting and informative Interpretive Programs are regularly scheduled on the history and natural resources of the mountain - please visit the Mount Nebo State Park website for details (www.arkansasstateparks.com/mountnebo/).
