One of the Tri-Peaks Region's most striking landmarks is Petit Jean Mountain, home of Arkansas' first state park and breathtaking vistas of the river valley.
The first state park has a fascinating and colorful history that begins well before early Native American settlers and includes the story of the beloved "Petit Jean" for whom the park was named. The Petit Jean State Park Mather Lodge complex offers 24 guest rooms and a variety of facilities including a swimming pool, gift shop, and restaurant. The massive stone and log building was constructed in the 1930's by the CCC and has been fully equipped and modernized. The State Park also offers 125 campsites with modern bathhouse facilities for year-round camping.
