o the north lies the Ozark National Forest with many and varied recreational areas. To the south is the Arkansas River Valley. And running the length of Pope County is Scenic 7 Byway, one of the 10 most scenic routes in the U.S. ....Enjoy!

Bona Dea Trails & Sanctuary - Nearly six miles of hiking trails wind through the wilderness area, where wetlands and low woods provide habitat for wildlife. Located in Russellville.

Arkansas Tech University - Located in Russellville, it's the only state university offering a BS in Recreation and Park Administration and Hospitality Administration; courses in Resort and Meetings/Convention Management, Travel and Tourism and Interpretive Methods. Tech also offers masters degrees in education, science in education, and liberal arts.

Arkansas River Valley Arts Center - Located at 1001 East B Street in Russellville, the Center hosts community, youth and children's theatre, plus concerts and performances. Free gallery tours on weekdays.

Picklecity, USA - The City of Atkins celebrates each May with "picklefest" when the cucumber harvest is in full swing. Enjoy quaint places to eat home-cooked food, antique and craft shops, historical homes and an RV park with full hookups. Ever tried a fried slice of dill pickle? This tasty treat was invented right here.

Russellville - Stroll through our downtown. Visit the Shinn Building, Russellville's oldest retail building (circa 1888) that now houses a fine restaurant and retail shop. This building is also home to one of Arkansas' historic "Ghost Signs" located on the exterior east wall. Also other historic homes and buildings. Bring an appetite, because we've got plenty of great tastes. One of the biggest, tastiest burgers anywhere is served at Russellville. We have award-winning catfish and homemade pies.

Lake Atkins - Popular 'fishing hole' located just south of the City of Atkins. Bass, crappie, catfish, panfish.

Lake Dardanelle - Impoundment of the Arkansas River extends 50 miles upstream from the Dardanelle Lock and Dam. Enjoy fishing, boating and water-skiing on Dardanelle's 34,300 acre surface. Handicapped accessible.

Jimmy Lile Knives - Located at Russellville, the home of custom blades made by the late Jimmy Lile, famous for his Bowie knives.

Russellville and Pope County National Register Historic Sites - Russellville and Pope County feature many historic places including Crow Mountain's Petroglyph, Potts' Inn in Pottsville, several homes, school buildings, the Confederate Mothers National Park and The Missouri- Pacific Depot in Downtown Russellville.
