Arkansas River - One of the state's best fisheries, loaded with game fish. Also popular for water sports. Parks, marinas and several access points for fishing and Great scenery and great fishingpicnicking on sandbars throughout the region.

Blue Mountain Lake - Waveland, Yell County. Just north of the Ouachita National Forest, this impoundment on the Petit Jean River has water sports, picnicking, full-service camping facilities and seasonal hunting opportunities in its surrounding forests.

Horsehead Lake - 8 miles north of Clarksville. 98-acre lake, three miles of hiking trails and campsites.

Harris Brake Lake - Fishing, camping, cabins, boat rentals and boat launch.

Fourche River - Flowing from Lake Nimrod to the Arkansas River. Several launching areas and good fishing.

Lake Overcup - Great little fishing lake (1,025 acres) with marinas, camping, boat rental. North of Morrilton off Hwys. 95 or 9.

Lake Brewer - Another popular fishing spot (1,200 acres) located north of Morrilton off Highway 92. Boat launch available.

Cove Lake - This pristine lake at the base of Mount Magazine offers visitors a variety of outdoor pleasures including swimming, boating, camping and fishing.

Shoal Bay - Corps of Engineers Lake Area (Dardanelle) has boat dock and ramp, pavilion, swim beach, Bridge Rock Nature Trail, amphitheater, facilities and camping.

Lake Winona - Historic facilities, primitive camping, picnicking, fishing and boating.

Lake Dardanelle - Arkansas River impoundment has some of the best bass fishing of any lake in the state. Enjoy family boating and water-skiing on the lake's 34,300 acre surface.

Kingfisher Lake - Popular Yell County fishing spot.
